Rosedale State School is a Kindy to Year 12 Campus situated approximately half way between Bundaberg and Agnes Water that caters for students within the Discovery Coast area. Our school is a co-educational school that offers a curriculum that is suited to meeting the diverse needs of our students and our community, giving students sporting and cultural opportunities as well as an academic and vocational education with a strong focus on the wellbeing of each individual. From the beginning of 2020 our school now offers a free State Delivered Kindergarten playbased program. Our Primary School (Kindy-Year 6) learning phase focuses on early childhood and development whilst our Middle Phase of Learning (Years 7-9) caters for meaningful engagement, building relationships and achievement of outcomes for young adolescents. Our Senior Phase of Learning (Years 10-12) ensures our students are able to access a broad curriculum with multiple pathways.

While we have an academic focus for those choosing to follow a tertiary education pathway, we also offer a strong alternative vocational pathway for those seeking traineeships, apprenticeships and employment. This is in keeping with our vision of 'preparing today for life tomorrow'.

Traditional Land Owners

Rosedale is situated on the traditional land of the Bailai, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang and Taribelang Bunda people.

In the beautifully crafted and gifted words of our First Nations Elder Zita Walsh, we;

'Would like to acknowledge all our Elders, Past, Present and Emerging.

The Elders and Leaders, we especially would like to acknowledge today, belong here, to this country around where we are gathered today at Rosedale State School.

They are the Elders from Gooreng Gooreng, Bailai (By-e-lee), Gurang and Taribelang (Terri-bel-lang) Bunda, First Nations Peoples.

Their country has an eastern boundary of many islands such as Lady Musgrave, Lady Elliot, Curtis, Wild Cattle, Hummock Hill Island, and many more. The northern boundary is Raglan Creek, the southern boundary is the Elliot River, and the western boundary is the Auburn Ranges where the Burnett River begins its journey.

Despite the impact and changes from the settlement of other Nationalities of peoples from different Countries around the world, who came here over 250 years ago, the First Nation Peoples (or Indigenous Peoples of Australia) have maintained their spiritual and cultural connections to these lands for over 60,000 years.

The First Nation Peoples continue to move forward, sharing with all Australians, the importance of culture and land, because they believe They "Always was, Always will be" part of this land forever, 'Working Together to Heal Country.'

State Delivered Kindergarten

The Department of Education (the department) is committed to ensuring Queensland children and families have access to a kindergarten program wherever they live.

Our school offers a State Delivered Kindergarten program. The kindergarten program is a part time educational program run in a composite class with a qualified teacher for children in the year before Prep. Kindy is a place where children can explore new environments, build confidence and have fun learning with friends. Kindy offers meaningful experiences and interactions that support children's early learning, wellbeing and development. Kindy programs experience a combination of indoor and outdoor, group and individual learning experiences. They learn through a range of contexts where planned and spontaneous activities are targeted to their interests and learning development. Kindy programs develop a child's physical, social, intellectual, language and emotional abilities. By participating in Kindy, children develop a love of learning and are better prepared to start school.

The department provides kindergarten programs in selected approved State Schools in communities where families would otherwise not have access to a kindergarten program. Kindergarten is proudly provided at our school 2 days per week on a Thursday and Friday between 8.50am and 2.55pm.

Please see the enrolments tab for information on how to register your child. Please contact the school office administration on 41 565 777 for the days that the Kindy operates.
